Host Item Entry: The Wilmington Walk of Stars (Walk of Fame) is a nonprofit organization founded in 2015 to provide a showcase for the cultural heritage of Wilmington Delaware and to advance the knowledge, awareness and appreciation of people and their accomplishments. Its undertaking is also to inspire pride in the public and career inspiration in individuals. This project is not limited solely to people who are born in Delaware. The Walk of Stars consists of brass stars (or other types) and bronze plaques embedded in the sidewalks of Downtown Wilmington Delaware to honor people from Delaware and other places who have made major national contributions to our cultural heritage. Each star features the name of an honoree and the accompanying plaque contains a biography summarizing his or her achievements and connection to the city. These informative tablets distinguish the Wilmington Walk of Stars from similar projects throughout the country and make ours educational as well as entertaining vol. 1, no. 1, 1, p. 1-15
